Fresh sausages and snack sticks produced in our Collagen Casings can be stuffed straight from the carton thanks to the elastic nature of this product. Made from the collagen protein found in animal connective tissue, the walls of this casing are strong enough to resist high stuffing pressure. This results in uniform, consistent sausages. This casing is odorless and is available in clear or rich mahogany color.

Use and Care

Handling: Keep away from heat, flame, sparks and other ignition sources. Do not soak casing in water. Any unused casings should be closed tightly in a plastic bag to prevent drying out.

Storage: Edible Collagen Casings should be stored in a cool, dry location at 40°F -70°F. The box over wrap should not be opened until ready to use the casings. Likewise, any casing that is left over to be used at a later time should be resealed to retain proper moisture levels. The casings are best if used within 2 years from the delivery date. 

Usage Information: Snack stick collagen casings can be processed in an oven or smokehouse. Fresh collagen casings can be pan fried or grilled.
